Oaxaca's Soul in Madrid
A proposal situated in Madrid, inspired by the Mediterranean and what it evokes. Immersing visitors in a space of arches, terracotta hues, and bespoke furniture pieces crafted specifically for the project. A sensorial experience that transports directly to the roots of Oaxaca City, Mexico.
A restaurant that immerses itself in Mediterranean architecture with a nod to the distinctive design of Oaxaca — where the predominant forms of arches meet earthy terracotta.
The floor plan reveals the projects layout: a restaurant with varied seating zones, some featuring high tables, others with standard-height dining.
Creating contrast between the monochromatic earth tones and a mosaic floor with geometric patterns Arches function as thresholds, marking transitions between distinct areas. Light and shadow play across a wall of hollow bricks — an homage to Oaxaca.
Understanding this, the project emerges as an inspiration from these two cultural dialogues. Entering a gastronomic experience that offers an environment filled with orange and earth tones.
Incorporating that interplay of light and shadow through custom-made bricks, arches, and forms that guide movement throughout the space.
Oaxaca34 features expansive windows along the façade, harnessing natural light while softening its intensity for guests’ comfort through aesthetic interventions.
Upon entering, the front desk commands attention with its interplay of geometric forms — a dialogue between solid and void These arched elements guide spatial flow throughout.
A project where nature weaves through the interior, complemented by bespoke pieces crafted specifically for this environment
